We used in this test the following hardware to measure the gap between those 2 OS:
Intel core i7 870 (2.93 ghz, 8Mo of cache)
Thermalright MUX-120 heatsink
ASUS p7p55d, BIOS 0606 (09/03/2009), P55 express chipset
Kingston KHX2133C9D3T1K2/4GX (4Gb memory DDR-3)
XFX Geforce 285 XXX Edition
Western Digital velociraptor WD3000HLFS, 300 Go, 10 000tr/min SATA 3go/sec,16 Mo of cache
Cooler master RS850-EMBA 850 watts
And the following benchmarks were used
Crysis:
Patch 1.2.1, DirectX 10, 64 bits version
Test 1: High, No AA
test 2: Very high, AA x8
Far cry 2:
Patch 1.03, DirectX 10
Test 1: High, No AA
test 2: Ultra High, AA x8
STALKER Clear Sky:
Test 1: High, DX10 EFDL, No AA
Test 2: Ultra, DX10 EFDL, MSAA x4
World in Conflict:
Patch 1009, DX 10
Test 1: High, No AA/ AF
Test 2: Very High, AA x4 / AF x16
The results were very very similar, those banchmarks' fps were practically the same, the test indicates only that Windows 7 can be 7% to 10% more reactive than Vista.
Which means that if your problem is a dilemma between Vista and 7, we recommend you to take the one that suits you the most, because in the matter of performance, they're very equal...
Administratorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02942208300508795291noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1509203829502013184.post-68832344039255690562011-04-26T13:52:00.000-07:002011-04-26T13:52:45.289-07:00Windows 7: Introduction and features
Windows 7 is the latest operating system from Microsoft.
